Lancaster County is considered the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country – home to the well-known Amish and traditional Mennonite cultures. Shunning modern industrial society, Lancaster County harkens back to a simpler time and its towns exude old-fashioned charm. You can leave a few of your modern conveniences behind by pitching a tent or traveling by motor home – whichever you decide, Lancaster has a campground for you.

Old Mill Stream Campground allows you to pitch a tent or pull in your RV. Located on 15 acres with a quiet stream running through it, this Lancaster campground is in walking distance of the Dutch Wonderland Family Amusement Park. A site rental with free WI-FI costs $33.00 per night although water, electricity, sewer and cable will cost extra.

Beacon Hill Camping is located a short walk away from the old Amish community of Intercourse. Nestled among Amish farms and offering breathtaking views from its hillside, this campground is ideal for motor homes. A site with water, electricity, and a sewer costs $33, however WI-FI is free. You must be 16 or older to camp here.

Mill Bridge Village Camp Resort , located near the town of Paradise, accommodates tents and motor homes. This camp resort offers a variety of amenities including a pool, basketball, and fishing on the Pequea Creek. You can opt to sleep in a resort cabin, a tipi, or a gingerbread barn. Alternatively, tent sites cost $32-$41 a night while trailer sites with electiricty, water, sewer and cable cost $40-$48 per night. Additional camping fees may apply.

The Loose Caboose Campground is located in Kinzer, a short drive out of downtown Lancaster. This campground caters to motor home families and families pitching tents. They offer a range of deals from tent sites with no amenities for $28 per night to motor home sites with water, electricity and sewer for $38 a night. Picnic tables, fire rings, and complimentary Internet are available.

Roamers Retreat Campground is also located in Kinzer and caters to RVs as well as tents. A tent site generally costs $34 per night while water, electricity, sewer and cable will bring the bill up to $38 per night.

Red Run Campground is in New Holland, offering tent and motor home sites. Surrounded by Mennonite farms, Mennonite and Amish neighbors often drive their horse drawn vehicles straight through the campsite. A tent site costs $27.50 a night while an RV site costs $35 per night.

Spring Gulch Resort Campground is also in New Holland and offers more modern amenities. The campground offers a variety of cabin packages as well as RV sites. The site includes two Olympic sized heated swimming pools as well as a Spa & Fitness Center. The campgrounds are surrounded by Amish farmlands. A night here with a motor home can range from $34-$62 per night.

Lancaster County offers a diverse array of camping sites for motor homes and families with tents. Whether you are looking to enjoy nature, get away from it all, or have a fun time with full amenities there is an option for you and your family.
